As a child, I really liked Andy Gibb. Andy who? Uh, Andy Gibb...you know cohost of Solid Gold...? With Marylyn McCoo..? Solid Gold dancers? The BeeGees youngest brother? Ok nevermind. Anyhow, I was a fan. Not only because he was so handsome and he had the whole boyish cuteness going, but because he really had a beautiful voice. He only had one real hit though, but the song remains timeless.
I Just Want to Be Your Everything. And everytime I hear it, I swear I can feel the heavens open up. I swear! The problem is that if you followed his story it was a tragic one and he died young. He seemed to have it all, but...well just but. For a while I could barely listen to that song. Yet somehow as time has past, if it happens to play on the radio, I will stop and sing to it and still feel that Presence, that comfort I used to feel when I was a kid. That part did not die. The song is still intact. I even now have it on my MP3 (yes, MP3 not IPOD). Anyhow, I am thankful for that song and Andy Gibb as it contributed to feeling happy and meeting some real goals.
Why is that so?
I submit to you that the Lord has His voice in everything no matter what it is. I nearly consider the song a Christian song. Despite the lyrics, the tragedy. There was/is something in Andy's voice (his gift). In the production of the song, something! that continues to resonate. The Lord is amazing.
Hear the magic that is in His voice.
Sincerely,
Yorrelle
